A Summer Morning at the Dog Park
An overcast August morning with Mabel chasing both balls and Wanda settling into the cool grass.
The eastern end of the neighborhood dog park is a large field, especially from the perspective of a tennis ball disappearing into long grass. Mabel runs hard, loses track of one ball, finds another, and remains reluctant to return either one.
Wanda offers the counterpoint: lying in the cool grass, largely undisturbed by dirt or insects. Together they make an ordinary August morning worth keeping.
